There is a new program being developed based on xpwn called Jailbird. It will jailbreak, activate and unlock your iPhone 2G or iPod touch 1G and jailbreak (and/or activate) the iPhone 3G. It is a complete replacement for Winpwn which will build custom IPSW files and support firmware 2.2. The initial release is scheduled for sometime in February and will include root partition resizing and custom boot images.

Today i try to test the winpwn 2.5… Now i have an iPhone with this screen and i haven’t any custom firmware to restore my phone with it!

WinPwn didn’t ask me anything about location of original IPSW or destination for Custom IPSW!

Updated: During publishing this post, my iPhone reboot itself and start again with no changes! It’s very amazing!

Updated: OK, I found that the WinPwn automatically search for IPSW file and save the custom IPSW in Documents folder (Windows Vista)

Updated: Finally i could upgrade my iPhone from 2.0.2 (unlocked & jailbroken using QuickPwn) to 2.0.2 using winpwn 2.5 Beta 1 (Just for testing WinPwn 2.5 Beta 1)

According to iPhone Dev Team a new version of QuickPwn (beta 150 For Windows platform) available in the next few days. A release candidate version also available for 64-bit windows users (should be able to be used with all versions of Windows)
