According to Eldar Murtazin, the same guy who brought the Nokia N97 review 5 months early, the Nokia App Store will be one of the major announcements at Mobile World Congress 2009, Feb 16th-19th. He claims it has been running privately and used it already.
I’m not sure where Unwired View quoted Eldar, but they quoted him saying:
At first glance, for now, the app portal looks so so, there is some confusion. But they are trying, polishing it and a lot has changed for the better in a matter of days. A right step in a right direction… And the distribution and revenue sharing model between app makers and Nokia looks very attractive.
If this is true, this is good news for Nokia owners wanting to find more applications to install. Apple’s App Store definitely set a very high standard, so I can’t wait to see how Nokia’s own store compares.
